Connecting and Disconnecting Gas, Electricity and Water Supplies
Below is a description of the steps required to connect or disconnect gas, electricity and water supplies.
Gas (for Tokyo Gas)
After contacting Tokyo Gas to connect or disconnect the supply, a representative will visit the residence and carry out the connection or disconnection. The visit and the relevant work can be arranged on any day of the year including weekends and holidays (such as the New Year holidays).
When connecting the gas supply, the gas company will confirm the gas is connected, connect the gas meter stopcock to gas appliances, and provide instructions on how to use the gas. You will need to be present for this.
When disconnecting the gas supply, the gas company will carry out tasks such as closing the gas meter stopcock. You may also need to be present for this, so confirm it beforehand.
